June 2010

We are counting down, and getting close. We had a lot going on this month. As previously we had Alex's 3rd birthday. Also, Uncle Bill was in and out so that gave someone new for the kids to be entertain/be entertained by. We had another visit with Miss Kathy and got to chase and feed her chickens. The kids also spent a ton of time outside.

So a few years ago my friend Melissa made one of these for a friend of hers having a baby and I thought it was the nicest idea. Graciously she shared her photos with me again and I worked on channeling my inner Martha, here are the results...

I made 3 - 1 each for Alex and Amelia
...then 1 for my dear dear friend Kristen

Alex's 3rd Birthday

Considering Daddy was gone Alex had a great birthday! We went to the zoo, we played outside, we had cake and opened presents. He was happy and in a good mood all day which is awesome. Both kids really enjoyed the zoo, their favorite was definitely being able to feed the animals.

We are so blessed to have Alex in our lives. It is such a cliche but kids really do grow up too fast. I can't believe he is already 3. All of his teachers and therapist remark on how sweet and behaved he is (wish he could be more like that at home, but hey I'll take what I can get). He loves anything w/a motor or wheels. He loves being outside. He just recently is getting the hang of peddling his tricycle. He adores his sister and is beside himself when she isn't in his range of sight and will immediately ask where she is, that doesn't mean he doesn't fight with her constantly. He is starting to get into bugs, snakes, frogs and other icky boy things. He is really starting to talk a lot now and his therapists are floored with the improvements he's made in such a short time given his diagnosis of apraxia. Its great to hear him talk and comment and slowly start to hold conversations with. He has even taught Amelia his version of Old McDonald. His favorite food is cheese and drink is chocolate milk. Alex is 39.5" (90%) tall and weighs 31.5 lbs (40%).

We can't wait to see what this year brings with moving back to Ga, a new school, new therapists and Daddy back!
